About Tim Collins Guitar
Tim Collins Guitar is the online home of a private guitar and ukulele teaching studio located just steps from High Park in Toronto, Ontario. The studio offers in-person, one-on-one lessons for students of all ages and abilities — from young beginners picking up an instrument for the first time, to hobbyists looking to deepen their playing, to serious students preparing for competitive auditions to top postsecondary jazz programs. Lessons cover jazz, pop, rock, country, blues, and folk on guitar, with ukulele available as a welcoming starting point for younger learners.
The site is built and maintained by Tim Collins, a Toronto-based guitarist and educator with more than 15 years of teaching experience. Tim trained at Humber College's renowned jazz and contemporary music program and also studied in Western University's Popular Music program, and he performs professionally across the city as the leader of Champagne Music. Every lesson is grounded in patience, personal attention, and a genuine love of playing.
A teacher who plays.A player who teaches.
I'm Tim Collins, a Toronto-based guitarist and educator with over 15 years of teaching experience. My studio sits just steps from the northeast corner of High Park — a quiet, comfortable space where students come to listen, learn, and grow.
I trained at Humber College's jazz and contemporary music program, and also studied at Western University's Popular Music program. That dual background shapes how I teach: rigorous musicianship grounded in a genuine love of playing.
Whether you're picking up a guitar for the first time or preparing for a college audition, my focus is the same — patient, personal guidance that meets you where you are and takes you somewhere real.
Beyond the studio, Tim performs professionally as the owner and leader of Champagne Music, providing live guitar and music for weddings and events across Toronto — real-world performing experience that keeps his teaching grounded in genuine musicianship.
